I have worked in various mental health settings in Australia and New Zealand for the past 20+ years. I started out working in the area of addictions followed by 8 years of Employee Assistance Programs in Australia. I moved to New Zealand in 2015 and spent the next 8 years working with survivors of trauma. Since then, I have specialised in the area of eating disorders, drawing from the knowledge and experience I have gained along the way. My goal is to support those seeking assistance to find a more peaceful relationship with food, their body and themselves. One of my main modalities is Brainspotting which is a specific neuroscience based therapy. Brainspotting functions as a neurobiological tool to support the healing therapeutic relationship. Essentially, it taps into the body's self-scanning capacity to process and release those areas that are stuck so that issues can be resolved. I also use CBT, ACT and other evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches.
