Hello everyone, thank you for taking a look at this profile! Karen is an experienced counsellor of 17 years, and is a Full Member of the 'New Zealand Christian Counsellor's Association '(NZCCA). She has worked in a variety of counselling agencies and professional settings over 40 years, and she has a rich history of life experiences to draw upon. Karen also counsels people who identify as neuro divergent, people with disabilities, with additional experience working e in the disability sector for people with Parkinson's and Stroke in Field Officer roles within the community. Karen also enjoys working as a Professional Supervisor, with 8 years experience under her belt, working with people employed in counselling and health related community roles. In addition to this, Karen takes pleasure in assisting people to attain their goals, potential and living out their values in life as a Professional Life and Change Coach. She is registered with the Australian & New Zealand Coaching Alliance (ANZCAL) Professional Membership. Karen is excited to have done some basic training in the 'Havening Technique', and is working towards full certification as a Havening Technique Therapist. Havening is a somatic therapy technique which releases emotional distress and trauma through gentle touch and sensory input, creating a calming effect on the nervous system, promoting safety and wellbeing. Karen is English and she has lived in New Zealand for 20 years with her husband and adult children.
