Bernadette is a passionate and empathetic psychologist who takes a strength-based approach working with families, adults, adolescents and children with a broad range of difficulties. Bernadette’s focus is on a range of psychological testing and treatment planning for mental health conditions, emotional regulation and behavioural problems. Further, provision of interventions tailored to presenting issues to improve functioning, interpersonal relationships and building capacity. Bernadette has training in Circle of Security and is a Triple P facilitator. She has a commitment to lifelong learning and holds a Master of Forensic Mental Health and Master of Clinical Psychology qualifications. Thus, she uses a range of modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Attachment Based Family Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution Focussed Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy and Schema Therapy. Bernadette has lived in Cairns for the past 20 years and has established a wide network working across both public and private sectors, she has further worked in research at James Cook University and in various forensic settings.
