Mrs Glenda Carter

Counsellor
Specialised support for
Grief & Loss, Depression, Self-esteem, Stress Management, Trauma

I have been a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association ( ACA) for seven years and have worked in remote rural areas with community members of all ages, from schoolchildren to the elderly, with diverse issues. As a result, I have gained experience working with people from various backgrounds and with various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, grief and trauma. I have also developed a range of skills in counselling, such as active listening, developing trust and rapport, understanding cultural differences, and providing practical and emotional support. I use a person-centred approach, treating clients individually and supporting their rights to exercise choice within a confidential environment. Over the last four years, I have worked extensively in disaster recovery and critical incident settings, supporting people at their most vulnerable. My current position in private practice involves providing low-intensity mental health counselling to senior citizens. I am passionate about helping people in need and believe everyone deserves to be heard and supported. I am dedicated to providing the best possible care to my clients and strive to make a positive difference in their lives. I am committed to bringing my knowledge and experience to each unique situation, understanding the complexities of my clients' backgrounds and providing individualized care and guidance to help them reach their full potential.
